Let me introduce myself

My name is Darrell Banks, the owner of Grace and Guitar Studio.

I’ve been playing guitar (and riding motorcycles!) since my teens and have been involved in church music for most of my life. Worship leading, performing, singing, and playing in bands have always been a central part of who I am, and music has long been something I feel called to share.

Today, I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach and mentor students at every stage of their musical journey—including children and adults who are picking up the guitar for the first time. Grace and Guitar Studio is a place where music is learned with purpose and shared with heart, in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Lessons focus on practical guitar skills that help students not only enjoy music, but share it confidently—whether that’s around a campfire, within a church worship setting, or on stage with a band. The emphasis is on usable skills, musical understanding, and steady growth that supports real-life music making.

This isn’t about exams, certifications, or performance pressure. It’s about hearts and minds, meaningful progress, and learning at a pace that makes sense for each student. We offer both in-person and fully online guitar instruction, and whether lessons happen in the room or across the distance, the focus remains the same: practical musicianship that builds confidence, supports worship, encourages others, and honors God..
